A true Hong Kong girl, I grew up here pre-handover and went to Island School. Before attending law school and getting a MBA from Durham University, I spent many summers helping out at the stores, stacking shelves and recommending books to customers.

 After a few years at law firms and investment banks, I was enticed into the family business in 2002, at the same time as my sister, Arti came on board. While I still love stacking shelves (it’s very therapeutic!) and helping customers, the favourite part of my job is working with local writers, championing their work and finding ways to bring the community together through our shared love of books and reading. 

Together with Arti and our amazing team, we have rebranded and grown the family business into one of Hong Kong’s leading retailers. We have also opened two new retail concepts for our customers, Partytime and Sweet World. In 2017 Arti and I won Women of Influence Entrepreneur of the Year award from AmCham and we made the ‘Inside Retail top 50 Innovative Retail Leaders in Hong Kong’ list in 2018. I was also chosen to be one of 12 participants on Accelerator Program for Women Entrepreneurs by The Women’s Foundation and ANZ Hong Kong in 2015.
