What are you looking for? A good read for the summer? Something to pluck you out of Life’s routines? A new perspective on how to live your life maybe? Whichever it is, you might just find it in “What You are Looking for is in the Library” by Michiko Aoyama (releasing 10th August).
When I picked it up among this seasons’s proofs to be read, it was mainly because of the library setting and the idea of book recs that change people’s lives. I expected likeable characters, a comfortable pace and an easy read like a summer breeze—all that i got and so much more. I did not expect the excellent writing, the quirky, realistic and impressive characterization, or the mastery of weaving the threads of these seemingly independent characters into a larger-than-sum story. I only read it on the pool’s side and finished it in less than a week. It's that rare book that speaks to both your mind and your heart and leaves you a person a bit better than the version you were before you read it—dear reader, I dare you to finish it and prove me wrong.
