Pravoslav Rada (14 November 1923, Železný Brod – 23 April 2011, Prague) is one of the leading personalities of Czechoslovak post-war art and innovators in the field of ceramics and ceramic sculpture. His work, unique in the Czech (Czechoslovakian) context, has been presented many times in exhibitions and partial catalogues. It was last comprehensively presented in an exhibition at the Museum of Arts and Crafts Council? Great! in 2011. The Pravoslav Rada did not live to see the end of the exhibition, for which, unfortunately, a monograph of the artist's work was not prepared, even though it would have been adequate, necessary and worthy of its significance.

This debt is repaid only by the fully bilingual monograph (CZ/ENG) Pravoslav Rada , published at the end of 2023 by the Alšová South Bohemian Gallery on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the author's birth. The monograph is structured chronologically and thematically and in terms of content covers all significant chapters of Rad's work - it presents a comprehensive treatment of his free and used work, creations for architecture including a list of realizations in architecture and an interactive map, it also focuses on his publication and popularization activities in the field of techniques ceramics and for organizational activities. It also reflects hitherto marginalized areas of Rad's work, such as animated films and puppet theater. The monograph contains a list of bibliography and exhibitions , the artist's brief biography in the data and medallions of the contributors.

The graphic concept of the book visually and haptically evokes the medium of ceramics and the specifics of Rad's work. The bilingual processing is enhanced by the use of two basic PANTONE spot colors, which Rada used extensively in his work. The alternation of language mutations is also supported by the variation of the fonts used. Titulkové Denim from the Czech typeface Displaay refers with its characteristic roundness to the morphology of ceramic creation and working with clay. The monograph, containing hundreds of images, is printed on haptically attractive Munken Lynx paper.
